Two More Tablets Unveiled to take on iPad

It's a tablet day at Computex, the trade show underway in Taiwan. ASUS has unleashed two tablets and an e-reader upon the world, while MSI has launched its own tablet named the WindPad.

The 12-inch Eee Pad Ep121 is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and Microsoft's Windows 7 operating system.

The iPad Killer

Google is almost ready to start selling its own tablet. The device, according to the New York Times, will be “an e-reader that would function like a computer.” So close is it that Eric Schmidt, CEO at Google, was describing it to friends at “a recent party in Los Angeles.”

The slate-like computer will run Android, and anonymous sources say that Google has already been working with publishers to put books and magazines on the device.

Apple and Google race for mobile dominance

Many media and technology pundits are convinced that the impending release of the Apple iPad will herald a change in the way we consume computing resources.

And while the iPad may usher in a new way to interact with computing devices, it's far from a perfect device. Perhaps it's the promise of what a device of this type can offer that's the message, rather than the actuality of what the initial iPad will deliver.

Apple Announces the iPad Tablet

We can all start to breathe again! Apple has finally made their long awaited, highly anticipated, rumor generating product announcement. And it’s the “iPad”. Now we can move past criticizing Apple for what it might be making, and move on to criticizing Apple for what it did make.

Microsoft launches Windows 7

Microsoft Corp launched Windows 7 on Thursday, its most important release in more than a decade, aiming to win back customers disappointed by Vista and strengthen its grip on the PC market.

The world's largest software company, which powers more than 90 percent of personal computers, has received good reviews for the new operating system, which it hopes will grab back the impetus in new technology from rivals Apple Inc and Google Inc.
